Jack Daniel's SLC

Saw the Holden Commodore Wagon in a J.D. livery so got me thinking with a couple of little sketches, this time a sports car instead of the estate, and again, back to having a little play on Photoshop with the livery and paint schemes, grilles, wheels and so on. Found a nice little forum on the net yesterday that is proving a huuuuge help using PS, getting the shades and highlights just right, especially when it came to the lettering over the form of the car.

Anyone fancy a drink?

Holiday!

Been on Holiday for the last week or so, not really done an awful lot, but did the odd sketch out across the beautiful Tunisian bays, lovely hotels with a modern architecture with a little bit of a Arabian theme... quite pleasant.

Oh, and it was sunny every day.

Utility Super Sports

Here we go... What's a Camaro without an SS... What's a Muscle car with a dirty big engine and what could  quite easily be a lot of clutch smoke pouring out of the back... I toyed with the idea of an attractive lady and a confederate flag giving her some decency, she just didn't look happy!

Not only that, but I did promise you the sketch that gave me the idea for some of these a while ago. The Ute might not be anything new, but at the end of the day, it's good practise getting it right with derivatives, good practise with Photoshop, and just a little bit more fun than doing a ... well, a Micra.

I imagine you're all quite tired of Camaros now, so I shall only do two more specials... Keep an eye out for those!

Pick Up Needed A Pick Me Up!

A few months ago I did a little doodle, and this turned into a sketch... a Utility vehicle with a Camaro grille.... basically, a pick-up on a sports car (heard of the Aussie Ute?)

Anyhow, since I've hit a bit of a dead end with the front face of my Alfa design, I hoped that rendering them up onto the Chevy Camaro might keep me occupied for a couple of days.

There's just one more render that I'm taking a bit of extra special time to do, get it just right, and I'll show it with the original doodle that I decided that there should be Camaro Pick-ups... In fact, I think there could be a whole commercial vehicle range here, for the blue collar, moonshine swigging red neck...

C Class Sports-Estate

So, my first post here. This is a recent piece, done just as Mercedes released images of the CLS shooting brake. In my mind, a proper shooting brake is a three door estate, going back to the Reliant Scimitar or the beautiful Volvo P1800ES, at a stretch the Mini Clubman.

Fiesta Break

My Ford Fiesta Estate variant, named the Break,
"Break away from the crowd"

Better described as a lifestyle vehicle, since the trunk capacity has really only marginally increased! On par with the Skoda Fabia Estate, and the low rung BMW 1 Series.

This was part of my university brief earlier this year, and although it is a derivative and not wholly my own design, I'm still very pleased, particularly since it was one of the first times I had used Photoshop.

3DTuning.ru

For anyone who likes to have a little play with cars, I really can't recommend this site enough: it's a little slow sometimes, but it's great fun! <<http://www.3dtuning.ru/en/>>

The site does all the hard work, really, but putting big ol' bumpers and some absurd details is fun.

Here's just a few of my favourites from there... I'm not the biggest fan of customising cars at all, but some of the stuff is pretty cool! Two Mercs, a Toyota, MINI, Ford, Peterbilt and BMW.

Eurofighter Typhoon

Is is a bird, is it a plane... well, yes, it's a plane. Just a little sketch of the Typhoon. I like using a biro, a little too much perhaps, since most of my biro sketches do end up looking quite busy: I am slowing working out of this habit!

Force Nine

This motorcycle design comes from the few main sketches that I prepared for my portfolio review for Coventry University Automotive Design, and as it did me well, the design means a lot to me. This is my first go at a proper render of the motorcycle, and no doubt, over the coming months and years, I will develop this design until I am very happy with it. I don't expect the next will have wonky wheels though!

Eddie Stobart 'Rosalind Marie'

Yes, I like my Stobart Trucks. For any real pedants, the "Rosalind Marie" is not an actual vehicle, just a name I gave it myself.

Bullen!

A little Porsche police motor for you to enjoy. Need to practise Rims. I've realised that it is wheels that really set off a car, both in drawings an in reality! Also might have to treat myself to a proper scanner, uploading camera pics simply do not do these justice!
